There’s so much else to consider if you’re to achieve the kind of lifestyle you want and deserve after you move in. For example: - Do you want to live in a busy city or picturesque rural location? - Do you want to live close to a great school or in the catchment area? - What amenities are close by? - Are there good transport links? - Does your chosen area have good broadband speeds? - Are there opportunities to socialise with like-minded people? - What leisure facilities are nearby? - Are there enough green spaces close by? Everyone will have different answers to these questions, as they’ll each have their own unique goals, circumstances and priorities. So if you have an eye on selling up and moving into your dream home, it’s important to think bigger than what type of cushions you want and whether or not you’d like a kitchen island. Look at your wider situation, what you want out of life and how much it will cost to enjoy the lifestyle you desire. Once you’ve done that, you can see how a property fits into that, and set lifestyle and financial goals so you can realistically make your dreams come true. ## Where is the best place to live? The Sunday Times recently compiled a list of what it believes are the best places to live in the UK, based on criteria ranging from infrastructure and the health of the high street. Here are the winners for each region of the UK. - Clerkenwell – London - Folkestone, Kent – South East - Sherborne, Dorset – South West - Wivenhoe, Essex – East of England - Stirchley, Birmingham – Midlands - Stockport, Greater Manchester – North West - Leeds – North and North East - Portstewart, County Londonderry – Northern Ireland - West End, Dundee – Scotland - Abergavenny, Monmouthshire – Wales If there’s one thing all these places have in common, it’s that there’s something for everybody. From bars, restaurants and culture to good road and rail connections and proximity to attractive scenery, they’re perfect locations for most people at any time in their lives.
